Little Bird Gonna Fly Soon
今週金曜日2月3日からUSへ行ってきます。Tucsonについてのリサーチで、なんだかもう既に行った気になっているというか、最近ちょっとしたものの先端が天然石のトンガリに見えてくるようになりました。今週末から早いショーはオープンのようで、それに合わせて現地入りしている知り合いの方もちらほら。私は6日からで、ショーのスケジュールばっちり決めました。しかしながら正直、行ってみないとわからないなあということが多くって.. というか、ショーが多過ぎて。後半のメインショーは外しませんが、前半は予定しているうちのどの程度まわることができるのか.. 私の求めている石がどこでどんな風に待っていてくれるのかなと考えたりしています。ここでこれをと決めるタイミング、迷いもいっぱい出てくると思うのですが、そんなときは自分を信じることひとつ。 そこブレなければ、なんとかなるでしょう。というわけで、なにしろ楽しんで来ます!! そうやって持って帰ってきた石は、キラキラしてるでしょうね。お楽しみに。XOXO

PARKLET
"Parklet"ってことば知ってますか? 簡単に言うと、街の中にあるちょっとした憩いスペース。最近では日本でもいろいろときれいに整備されているようで、実はあそこのあれも.. なんて心当たりありますよね。緑やベンチを置いたり、街のあまったスペースを利用したアーバンパーク。パブリックスペースなので、その街の行政機関が主体となる取り組みかと思います。
そこで、Parkletでも有名なSan Francisco、いろいろなクリエイターがその空間をデザインしたりと、とても興味深いプロジェクトがちらほら。私の大好きなアーティストのひとり、Eric Ottoもつい最近Parkletをデザインしました。彼の作品や他のもこのサイト、PARKS&RECREATIONでチェック。気候はもちろん、その街の特性や雰囲気があるので、どの程度Parkletが浸透するのか、どんなParlletが適切なのか、それはその地域によるかと思いますが、個人的にはこういった空間創りをサポートしてきたいと思います。その空間から創り出されるコミュニケーションやカルチャー、イメージするだけでもなんだかおもしろそう。San Franciscoの人たちはそういったことをちゃんとわかっているし、楽しみ方を知っていますね。この街が好きな理由がこれでまたひとつ納得です。
この"Parklet"ということばは、こういった取り組みが活発になって新しくできたようです。ことばって生きものだなと思います。アートも一緒ですね。Parkletはまさに新しいstreet artでありstreet cultureだなと。今のところ日本語サイトではほぼ見かけませんが、今後も注目していこうと思います。ちなみに、San Franciscoでは不況対策にもなっています。歩行者の数を増やして、街を元気に..そこからはじまったParkletは大成功。
